Luftbilder Sandbänke Norderoogsand, Japsand, Süderoogsand | Die höchsten Stellen des Japsands liegen etwa 1 Meter über dem mittleren Hochwasserstand (MThw). Wie alle Hochsande des deutschen Wattenmeeres bewegt sich der Japsand langsam westlich-ostwärts in Richtung Küste. Als der dynamischste und vermutlich jüngste der drei Außensände hat er in den letzten Jahrzehnten deutlich an Volumen und Fläche gewonnen.
